The Monster: How To Be A Monster

Hey, guys! I know, I know - "What are you doing? It's not FRIDAY!... Also, you're not supposed to be home until Thursday..."

I wrote this before I left!

It's Halloween soon! My favourite time of the year, of course. Since I am "The Monster", I think it's only fair that I do a special Halloween post for you. In my opinion, I'm pretty good with make up and I do my siblings' make up every Halloween anyway (as well as my own, obviously).

I know that this isn't fashion related but I though it would be fun!

Now, let's all turn into some creepy as hell zombies:

You will need:

  • A black eye-liner pencil. It must be a PENCIL.
  • Dark red lipstick

1. Make sure your face is clean and completely dry if you've just washed it.

2. Using the eyeliner, mark out your face's creases and your jawline and smudge.
Go back into them and make them darker if you feel it's necessary.
On your lips, there should be thick black marks along the sides and bottom lip.
Warning! You will look and feel like an idiot!

3. Use red lipstick to darken your lips, chin and underneath your eyes.
4. MESS UP THAT HAIR!

5. Practise your zombie face.

Bonus tip: light shining directly on your face makes you look extra creepy.
I am actually planning on going as a zombie version of Dora the Explorer to a Halloween party this year. I think it's a nice twist to everything considering that I look like her (according to most people I know) and I have the clothes and make up to do this. Yes, I even have Dora's yellow socks and bracelet. It's a really weird coincidence.

I'll post pictures of that either here or on my own blog. :-)

The Monster: That Vintage Look

I went to a 60s themed party last Saturday so I decided to do a tutorial on how to achieve a vintage look. I'm not a fan of the bright colours of the 60s but I really like the rock/gothic/biker side to that so that's the look I went for. I stood out in the party, believe it or not... Amongst all of the bright colours, there was me.

You will need:
  • At least 6 hair pins
  • Hairspray
  • Red lipstick
  • Eyebrow definer
  • Black eyeliner
  • A vintage dress

1. I teased my fringe so that it would flip backwards and held it with hairspray.

2. I pinned my hair up, with 2 pins, pushing the quiff slightly to the front  so that it had some height to it.

3. I then pinned the sides of my hair flat against my head and sprayed everything in place.
Use the flat side of your hairbrush to neaten the sides.

4. Put concealer and foundation on. You should know how to do this.

5. Using your eyeliner, extend the end of your lash line diagonally upwards.
Make sure the end of the points are sharp.

6. Thicken those eyebrows and add your preferred shade of red lipstick to your lips.
The lighting in our living room is slightly better for a vintage effect :-)

7. I actually didn't change until about 2 hours later and it was already quite dark outside.
This dress is from blackbutterflyclothing.com

This look would have worked better if I had longer hair.
But, I still liked how everything turned out.

My face is not this pale in real life!
If anyone is daring enough to try this look then please tell me! At the actual party, I didn't have that much fun... My friends decided not to go last minute and I was left with people I didn't know.

EXTRA INFORMATION

A friend of mine is doing Business Enterprise at his school and has asked me to help with promoting it. They have a Facebook page which you can check out with information about their products and updates of everything. I'll post the link at the bottom of this post.

Here are their designs which they're hopefully going to manufacture soon:

I personally like 3, 5 and 8 if it was in black. If you like any of them then please comment below this post and please, please, please share the page with friends!

Also, since this is based in the UK, I don't know what's going to happen with the people in the USA but when information about that comes along, I'll pass this on through my own blog.

That's all for this week!

The Monster: Warm Up!

It's autumn and the chill is slowly settling in. Now, I know that hooded jumpers are viewed as plain, un-stylish and made for lazy days. But, with the right combination, they will turn into one of the best autumn clothes ever! Remember my first post?

With the right clothes, a hoodie will stand out.

I have four hoodies and they're all from America - my dad brings me one back whenever he goes there. He escorts patients in the UK that live in other countries back home. His job is pretty cool when you think about it.

Believe it or not, the hoodie in the picture above is actually a brilliant red and not pink...

I also have a pink "ATLANTA" one, a black "CANADA" one and a blue "BOSTON" one. The other two are currently in the laundry pile so here's my pink one:

DARE TO WEAR
I love my poncho! I've actually never worn it to school but I definitely will as the weather gets colder. For a small triangular piece of fabric, it is extremely warm! I use a safety pin to keep it together in the middle. The fur hides it well.

If any of you guys have a poncho, you should embrace it. If you don't then get one!

This poncho is from River Island:

I love skull patterns... There's something about them that's so attractive...

Anyway, that's all for now. I hope you have a good weekend. Stay beautiful x
